The Message of God through Ptr. Jerson Eslao

Hehehe.... here i wish to write something Ptr. Jerson Eslao spoke of on the day of November 1, 2008 at the AFC of the Loakan Baptist Church... (So kung wala kayo... here is some things he talked about and perhaps some additional from me)

Its just that the message he relayed is quite something that has given interest in me... Or perhaps in as much as it is... it is something we usually neglect...

The Scripture we read and perhaps the source of his message is found at Romans 14 and I Corinthians 8 (whole chapters)... It has talked about believers eating meat or something.. but plainly it talked about different perspectives of Christian believers. Or as Ptr. Jerson said, our own conviction.... True, we Christians most often have our own convictions, beliefs or perspective about the do's and dont's in our life as Christian.... sometimes eating food itself makes a difference in our own beliefs, not only that but like watchin' movies and others.. we even quote scriptures as to why we believe on such things.... but then three things were pointed at that message.

1. Our convictions / perspectives should be edifying others
2. Our convictions / persoectives shouldn't stumble a young believer
3. Our convictions / perspectives should come from God's Word (the Bible)

Definitely reading the Scripture stated above talked about our own convicitons / beliefs / perspectives and also talked about our liberty / freedom... of course as we all know this freedom / liberty doesn't mean you can do everything you want to do... but its about freedom on doing what is right and pleasing unto God and man. As some say there is no such thing as absolute freedom. Freedom has its own limit. And Christians should learn how to give importance on that matter. That even we know that what we do is right, making sure that others know that "IT IS" right is also important... if one doesn't understand and may possibly be offended by what you do.. you do sin against God (I Cor. 8:12).

It's interesting that the Word of God gives more importance on "OTHERS" more than "whether what you do is right or wrong in your own perspective". But perhaps, it simply talks about GRACE and LOVE. These things i believe is the reason why we can call ourselves "Christians" (to those who receive and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour). And, it is one reason why we are saved. Not because of who we are or what we have done. That is why in Ephesians 2:8 & 9 states, it is by grace through faith that we are saved, not by our own works or anything else. It is all God's work which is done because of LOVE and GRACE.

Although... It's quite awful or sad to see esp. matured and have grown old in the faith forgetting the young ones or even the unbelievers. Young ones or unbelievers look at them as examples. and, therefore forget that they are responsible or accountable to them. Its sad to see some who claim that they are matured and have knowledge on God's word yet, their lives offend the weak in Faith. It's sad that Christians who think highly of themselves definitely have no room to what others think of them. It's sad that they forget what Christ has done for them, not because of who they are or what they have done.... but simply because God loves them and Christ died for them. Truly a gift we don't ever deserve.
