For E-knowledge again

How to remove autorun.inf worm

Previously there was a worm (not sure if it’s a virus or spyware or something but it was a worm), basically known as autorun.inf. Mostly, it is accompanied by other files like “amvo.exe, amv01.dll” or “ckvo.exe / ckv01.dll” stored at the directory of:

C:\Windows\system32\

And it copies itself to other drives, esp. usb flash drives.

This kind of worm can be removed by first deleting ”amvo.exe” or other suspicious file from the c:\windows\system32\

If you want to see other suspicious files containing virus, what I do is this:

From “C:\windows\system32” type “dir /ah”

Basically if you find something like a file with a .exe extension being hidden, you can further check them out by typing “attrib [filename]” and see their properties, whether they are a SYSTEM file, HIDDEN file, READ-ONLY file. If the file you entered has all these attributes, most likely they are virus. I’m not saying they are already virus. I’m just saying they are a suspect of virus. But anyway searching the net about their info is great to truly tell you what they are. And basically observing their behavior they are definitely a worm.

Anyway enough with the background / introduction. Removing this, you have to remove first its attribute, since you cannot delete this if it’s hidden or a read-only file. You then must type “attrib [filename] –s –h –r” (meaning you are removing their attributes), and after which, you can now delete them…BUT before doing this, it is best you are in “safe mode”. There are other sites that show how to remove autorun.inf, just google them out… J

But recently a different kind of autorun.inf made me go nuts… it’s still a worm, but tried to remove it by this kind of step, but I failed to do it.

This kind of autorun.inf has a companion which is “FOUND.000” directory and inside it would be the “USB_Files.chk” file also having the same “SHR” attributes(in other words its hidden and unable to easily delete it).

Having googled it on the net I found this site showing it’s info.

http://www.avira.com/ro/threats/section/fulldetails/id_vir/4331/worm_autorun.xtl.html

you will see the files accompanied by it and what affects in the registry

How to remove it? This is what I did….

First, re-start your computer in 'safe mode' probably best using "safe mode with command prompt”

press “alt + ctrl + del” to go to ‘task manager’

go to ‘processes’ tab and ‘end process’ suspecting virus or malware running in memory on safemode

some examples I ‘end process’ are named as

“system” (make sure you don’t end the other system) there could be two ‘system’ running in the safemode, end process the one who has bigger amount of mem usage. The safe one has at least 240K, the evil ‘system’ is going about 1000K

Other processes that you have to end may be ‘hate.sys’ and some unnecessary processes like ‘userinit’.

You must also end process “explorer.exe” (I know this is a needed program but the virus seem to use this to spread out itself…. Anyway that’s the reason we need to be in command prompt). This will put off some exploring abilities….

Next, having been disabled some programs that may help the virus / worm be active in the memory storage, it’s time for deletion…

Delete the files shown at the site i gave…..

Basically start at c drive or where windows is stored….

*Note: if you can’t delete it, check its attribute by typing “attrib [filename]” If it has an attribute of S H & R, remove it by typing “attrib [filename] –s –h –r”

Delete “hate.sys” found at c:\Windows\system32\drivers\

Delete “system” found at c:\Windows\system32\

Delete also the file winsis_x.inf (may be accompanied by other file so type it as “del winsis*.*”)

found at c:\windows\inf\

*removing autorun.inf

Type “CD found.000” entering the directory

Type “attrib USB_Files.chk –s –h –r and “del USB_Files.chk

Type “CD..

Type “RD FOUND.000” (sometimes even after deleting the file inside this directory you can’t remove this folder, if that happens, that’s ok…. Just ignore for the mean time, or perhaps type "attrib FOUND.000 -S -H -R" and try removing it again using the "RD")

Type “attrib autorun.inf –s –h –r” and “del autorun.inf” to remove autorun.inf

Next go to other drives or USB flash drives and do the same at *removing autorun.inf

After deleting every file, you will need to edit some changed entry at registry so

Type “regedit” and press enter

A window will appear and basing from the site I have given, you will see which values were changed.

Although you can ignore the change in HKCU but still you must edit the one at HKCR (HKCU means HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKCR means HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT)

*Take note “a change in the registry is a risky part. One change may make your computer not work well.” So if you are unsure, try asking help from someone who knows this stuff…. I tell you I made a bad move when editing this, good thing it wasn’t that bad and was able to fix it.

What you only need to change is the one at “HKCR\exefile\shell\open\command” which was changed to:

"%SYSDIR%\drivers\hate.sys %1 %*"

The value you must place should be exactly what is on “HKCR\exefile\shell\runas\command”. If I am right, the data value of “HKCR\exefile\shell\runas\command” is

“%1” %*

After this you may now close it and do you restart, and after which, check your computer if it will still have the worm.

Hope this could help. Although I warn also, I do not recommend this if you don’t know what you are doing… :)

The Line has been Drawn…

Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Recently, there’s this news that stunned me. It was news I heard from Ptr. Wilmark Canuto, who was at the moment filming a movie about Rapture and Tribulation. He talked about someone familiar to me and probably to Christian music lovers. It was Ray Boltz, stating that he admitted to be gay. (What?) Yes, gay…

It truly made me question, if he was even truly a Christian. His songs were known, and as what we may say, a hit song to Christians. I tried to search the net about this, and truly, there it is. Statements Ray Boltz did admit to the world that he is as what he thinks he is. Part of the article I read spoke also of a church denomination claiming to be Christians but accept gays, lesbians and the like. Reading also some feedbacks and comments, I could really see different sides or perspectives. But perhaps on my side, it made me question, “What is really happening in our world?” Verses started to creep in my mind, speaking of things to come and reminded me of all the warnings the Bible spoke of. The verses that lingered my mind were this:

2 Timothy 4:1-8
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Other Christians pointed out verses too and talked about self deception, and about Sodom and Gomorrah. The typical verses that will be brought out when we debate and talk about this topics. While I could only think of are the warnings the Word of God has given us. This also reminded me of one of the singer I’ve read about too. It was Sandi Patti, who too has committed sin. Well, I’m not here to judge them or anything. That belongs to God. But as far as our spiritual life is concerned, how can one know one is truly a Christian or not? Well, only God knows.

As far from what I know, they could be backsliders (Christians who went back to their old ways) or not really Christians at all. One example of a backslider if I remember was Peter (with some fellow fishermen disciples… I believe). They went back to fishing again and left the ministry. But still at the end, they came back to minister again, knowing that Christ did rise again. And, thinking of a self-proclaiming Christian but not really a Christian? I can only think of the Rich young man who approached Christ and ask about attaining eternal life. (Matthew 19:16-22) He called Christ, “Master” and he did all the commandments, but his problem is his heart. For his heart desires and cherishes his riches more than God.

This is one thing I would like to give, a warning and a reminder, to search our hearts. What does our heart contain, or who rules over our own heart? Ourselves or God? I remember the verse Romans 10:9-10. One of the verses I reiterate and make sure that the one I’m leading to Christ, whether a child or a young people, understands this verse.

Romans 10:9-10 (King James Version)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This verse speaks of the importance of the heart’s belief or faith, that out of the heart the mouth speaks for confession, and therefore salvation is attained. For the heart contains the truth and the real being of the person and perhaps our own will. The will to give our heart and mind, in other words our own self to God. For when we confess Christ as our Lord and Savior, therefore, we make Him Lord over us. The question is, as Christians, have we truly made that decision in our life? Speaking out or confessing with your mouth alone, the prayer of the sinner, without the heart believing is useless. I believe this is one of the failures of Christian witnessing. We are satisfied when one confesses with the mouth the prayer of the sinner, but the truth is we can never see the heart. It is only the person who confessed and God who can determine the state of the heart.

As for us who call ourselves Christians, this is the time I hope we would search our hearts as well. Have we truly made that decision in our life? Have we truly decided and chosen to follow God and serve Him? Have we truly made Him Lord of our life? The Lord is nearing fast as He unveils and fulfills the mysteries of His Word. And if that day comes? Which side will you be in? On God’s side? Or your own side? I pray that this be a reminder for all of us.

The Road to Predestination

Recent months, I’m very interested in this word “Predestination” and what does Fundamental Baptist believe on this matter. It is indeed one of the most debatable topics on theology and also I believe has a great impact on how we Christians view Christianity.

Of course every denomination has its own view about predestination (I think), as what I have been trying to research on it. But what do we believe regarding “predestination?” To be honest, I’m still trying to capture the whole idea of it on my mind, but definitely it’s spinning my head off.

Predestination in the Christian belief is God foreknowing and fore determining of every events happening from the smallest molecule to the vast and infinite universe, from past to present and future (hope that was correct). In addition, we always connect this to Salvation of Christians, of which we attain by God’s grace through faith. Verses that talks about predestination of Christians are found on the following verses:

Ephesians 1:3-5 (King James Version)
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

Romans 8:28-30 (King James Version)

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

One thing that may disturb us would be questions about the matter. Questions like “Does this mean we have no will of our own? Are we like then dummies? Or isn’t it unfair that God chooses who is to be saved?” these and other questions, which I actually myself have asked. These are the reason why I want to try and understand what we really believe about this.

But looking at God’s Word we find verses like Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Here we too see that we ourselves have our own free will, to choose to believe or not to believe; to receive Christ or reject Him.

Now this is really confusing isn’t it? Hehehe! Although one of my readings stated, it shouldn’t. But instead, predestination and free will of man coexist or does not conflict at all. Regarding free will, we basically don’t have an absolute free will.

Romans 3:9-11
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

From the verse itself, it says man, whether Jews or Gentiles, have no desire to, neither to look for God, nor even choose which is righteous. In other words, our nature is to sin. That is because of Adam’s sin, which was passed to all men.

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Now that we have a sinful nature, we can no longer choose God, because man chose to sin. Now here is where we find the word GRACE, of which God has given us. Because of God’s grace He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die and bore the punishment of sin unto himself so that we might be made righteous once again.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Now this verse truly explains that everything regarding our salvation is all God’s work. And we have no part of it. One preaching I heard said “Even our Faith comes from God” (that is one hard thing to understand).

Although, one explanation I read that may be logical, is that: God definitely knows everything, even the past and the future. And we Christians, I believe, agree on that argument. Therefore still, he knows every action or reaction we have in every circumstances we encounter. Now even if indeed we have our own will, God still has all the right to control every circumstance and can therefore alter things and allow things so that His will, will come to pass.

Perhaps one good illustration or example is what happened to Joseph, the dreamer. Joseph experienced such tremendous and painful events in his life, like his brother selling him to be a slave, being put to prison and the like. But God allowed this thing to happen so that His will of saving His people, the Israelites, will be fulfilled. It doesn’t mean that he authored evil things and even the sin of Joseph’s brothers, but that he allowed things to happen so that “His Will” will be done.

Definitely this doctrine of Predestination is so too much mind boggling and creates more questions. But perhaps one thing I learned from this all, is to thank God for choosing us to be His child. With this we can understand how Gracious God is. For we, who are worthy of nothing but trash, was made to be worth as His adopted child.
